Cuenta el Cronista de la ciudad que, el 10 de julio de 1712, se experiment\u00f3 en esta Villa el fen\u00f3meno de m\u00e1s horrible calor que hasta entonces se hab\u00eda visto jam\u00e1s, cuyo aire abrasador parec\u00eda expedido por un volc\u00e1n, de modo que las gentes no pod\u00edan habitar en sus casas ni en parte alguna. Los frutos pendientes de cosecha como uvas, higos y dem\u00e1s fueron malogrados, s\u00f3lo se exceptu\u00f3 la corta cosecha de aceitunas de aquel tiempo, el viento ard\u00eda desde la sierra de Crevillente y esto hizo creer a muchos, si aquel extraordinario calor ser\u00eda dimanado del incendio de dicha sierra, pero habi\u00e9ndose sabido posteriormente que en Murcia, Orihuela, Elda, Aspe y otros pueblos se not\u00f3 igual calor, se disuadieron todos que no pod\u00eda ser efecto del fuego.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
