FABRICA, IGLESIA, COLEGIO Y TEATRO"},"content":{"rendered":"<b>\u00c1lvaro Garc\u00eda<\/b><hr><hr>\n\n<p>En el <strong>\u201cCarrer Fossar\u201d<\/strong>, en el coraz\u00f3n del <strong>Raval,<\/strong> don <strong>Jos\u00e9 Maci\u00e1 \u201cEl Sord\u201d<\/strong> funda su f\u00e1brica de alpargatas y su vivienda a finales del siglo XIX, tras su muerte en 1902 su viuda e hijos la trasladan al <strong>Huerto de Candalix<\/strong> continuando este local para tareas auxiliares.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:post-content --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>El 20 de febrero de 1936 es destruida la iglesia de <strong>San Juan, <\/strong>en el a\u00f1o 1940 esta antigua f\u00e1brica se reconvierte en Iglesia provisional, en su tejado se levanta una espada\u00f1a con campana y su interior se adapta a su nuevo uso con un altar, sacrist\u00eda, confesionario y un coro. Como de lunes a s\u00e1bado tan solo hab\u00eda misa de 8 de la ma\u00f1ana y de 8 de la tarde, el resto del tiempo se utiliza como <strong>Colegio Unitario <\/strong>hasta el a\u00f1o 1953.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>El 8 de diciembre de 1958 el <strong>Obispo Barrachin<\/strong>a bendice el nuevo templo de San Juan que aun sin terminar inicia su actividad, finalizando la antigua f\u00e1brica su funci\u00f3n como iglesia.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>En 1964 se funda en <strong>Elche<\/strong> el grupo de Teatro Independiente <strong>\u201cLa Caratula\u201d <\/strong>por don <strong>Antonio Gonz\u00e1lez Beltr\u00e1n<\/strong>, grupo que recupera este local con un uso cultural. La zona del altar de la antigua iglesia se convierte en el escenario, se aprovechan las viejas butacas de los cines <strong>Avenida<\/strong> e <strong>Ideal<\/strong> para transformar aquel local en un peque\u00f1o teatro, funcionando durante algunos a\u00f1os de los 70 y 80.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Fuente: Gaspar Ja\u00e9n \/ Jos\u00e9 J.
