{"id":79,"date":"2024-06-21T08:45:51","date_gmt":"2024-06-21T08:45:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/raval.es\/historia\/?p=79"},"modified":"2024-07-11T16:27:56","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T16:27:56","slug":"puente-de-santa-teresa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/raval.es\/historia\/puente-de-santa-teresa\/","title":{"rendered":"PUENTE DE SANTA TERESA"},"content":{"rendered":"<b>Jaume Pascual<\/b><hr><hr>\n<p>La construcci\u00f3n de este puente supuso un hito y un avance para el barrio del <strong>Raval<\/strong>, ya que permiti\u00f3 la comunicaci\u00f3n con la parte Oeste de Elche.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:post-content -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>El puente de&nbsp;<strong>Santa Teresa<\/strong>&nbsp;(conocido popularmente como&nbsp;<strong>Puente de la Virgen y Pont Vell<\/strong>) es el m\u00e1s antiguo de los puentes de&nbsp;<strong>Elche.<\/strong>&nbsp;En un principio era de madera y un\u00eda el casco antiguo con el camino a&nbsp;<strong>Orihuela<\/strong>&nbsp;y con el&nbsp;<strong>Arrabal de Santa Teresa,<\/strong>&nbsp;que estaba alrededor del convento de&nbsp;<strong>San Jose.<\/strong>&nbsp;Por este motivo se le llam\u00f3 al puente asi.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>En 1673, el&nbsp;<strong>Concejo Municipal<\/strong>&nbsp;decidi\u00f3 sustituir el puente de madera por uno de piedra. En 1751 el puente fue derruido por una gran riada al pasar el agua por encima llegando a partirlo en dos.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>El&nbsp;<strong>Ayuntamiento,<\/strong>&nbsp;cinco a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, lo reconstruy\u00f3 y aument\u00f3 su altura, pasando de tener un arco a tener dos.
